Although there are four types of\u00a0ventilation systems<\/b>, you can broadly categorize them into two groups.<\/p>\n

Ventilation system A and B<\/h3>\n

Ventilation System A<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Ventilation System B<\/b>\u00a0are undeniably the cheapest solution for air filtration in your home, office or business. In practice, however, they are the least efficient and cause the most heat loss in the winter months.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0ventilation system A<\/b>, filters provide both air intake and exhaust. The disadvantage here is that in the winter you pull the cold air in with you and in the summer it is difficult to keep the heat out. Because the supply of air is not adjustable, this can lead to large temperature fluctuations indoors.\u00a0Ventilation system B<\/b>\u00a0has a similar operation, only here the air is supplied mechanically.<\/p>\n

With a\u00a0ventilation system C<\/b>, air is supplied naturally through grilles in the windows or walls of the so-called \u201cdry\u201d areas (the living areas, bedrooms, offices, etc\u2026). Through\u00a0pass-through ducts<\/b>,\u00a0ventilation system C<\/b>\u00a0ensures that the air gets to the \u201cwet\u201d areas (kitchens, toilets, bathrooms), where it is exhausted through fans in a\u00a0ventilation unit<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Ventilation system D: fully mechanical ventilation system, both for the supply and the removal of air (balanced ventilation)<\/h3>\n

To reduce heat loss to an absolute minimum, the fully\u00a0mechanical ventilation system D<\/b>\u00a0is usually chosen today. This\u00a0ventilation system<\/b>\u00a0provides complete control over the supply and removal of air, which is why\u00a0ventilation system D<\/b>\u00a0is often referred to as \u201cbalance ventilation. In\u00a0ventilation system D<\/b>, both the supply of fresh air and the removal of used air are done mechanically, through fans in the\u00a0ventilation unit<\/b>. Fresh air is drawn in through valves in the\u00a0balance ventilation<\/b>\u00a0unit and then blown along\u00a0pass-through ducts<\/b>\u00a0through supply vents into the dry rooms. The exhaust vents in the wet areas re-exhaust the air through other\u00a0pass-through ducts<\/b>.
