Proper ventilation and the EPB standards
Every building in Belgium – residential or commercial – must meet a number of requirements, known as EPB standards. EPB stands for Energy Performance and Indoor Climate. The standardization mainly takes into account the energy efficiency of a building and its livability. The EPB requirements depend on the purpose of the building (businesses have different requirements than homes), the type of building (new construction, renovation) and the year the planning permit was issued.
Within the EPB standards, ventilation is an important part, both the ventilation of your home and that of your office building or business. Because in order to create a good quality of life indoors, it has long been insufficient to open a window or door every now and then. Having a well-functioning ventilation system installed first and foremost guarantees the supply of fresh air. The risk of CO2 poisoning is also greatly reduced by good ventilation, both in summer and winter and with a minimum of heat loss.
For the installation of a ventilation system, it is best to contact a certified ventilation installer. Your Flowplus ventilation installer will guide you in your choice, ensure the correct installation of your ventilation system and is also available when your ventilation needs maintenance. Having a ventilation system installed does not offer you an additional premium from your network operator (anymore), but the installation of ventilation can be put in to claim the total renovation bonus.
The benefits of ventilation
The air quality in Flanders is not improving. Certainly in and around large cities such as Antwerp, the advantages of ventilation are considerable and the filtering of indoor air is not an unnecessary luxury. A ventilation system filters particulate matter and soot, but also pollen and pollen, creating a more pleasant and healthier living environment for people with weak airways and allergies. In addition, good air filtration – even for those who are not bothered by these things – has a positive effect on concentration and a good night’s sleep.
The choice for a ventilation system is quite drastic. As an experienced ventilation installer, we therefore recommend that you inquire about the possibilities in good time, because every client has different requirements for his or her home or working environment. Having your ventilation system installed guarantees you the right choice for your work or living situation. By having your ventilation installed by a recognized ventilation installer, you can also use the investment to claim the total renovation bonus.
